life in the Taos counter-culture of the 1960s, when so-called Hippies (many of them young Jews from New York and California) came to Taos and established communes. Iris gave a very informative and entertaining account of her experiences as a commune "insider."

The Conference rounded out with a tour of Jewish points of interest, highlighted by a tour of the Bea Mandelbaum and Louis Riback exhibit of abstract paintings at the Harwood Museum, and a talk by Wendy Blake Stagg about the Blake family and the development of the Taos Ski Valley by her father, Ernie Blake, who grew up as Ernst Bloch in Nazi-era Germany and Switzerland.

The setting, the brisk weather, the enchanting beauty of Taos, but most of all, the dynamic presentations of our speakers made for a wonderful Conference. Thanks to all who presented and to all who attended.
